Can You Trust The Internet ?

Can you trust the internet ? I'm not sure if it's safe to sign up to forums or any other stuff on the internet. Like if i sign up on a forum can people find out my information although they say it's all confidential.
Is it really that safe ? Can hackers crack into a forum admin or any other and find your details ?

Yes they 'can' do that but they wont get anything on you. Normally they'll go after the big names not you. you don't have enough money to interest them usually so they dont bother,

Don't click links you don't know are safe in general. Like the first post :/
or Emails n stuff and avoid websites for hacks and stuff and you'll be fine.

Amazon, Ebay, newegg and stuff like that are pretty safe.
