Can you use a LG Ally on your own plan and how much do the LG Allys cost?

I'm getting the LG Ally and I dont know how much it costs. I'm going to get it on stores, Not order it online. So how much do they cost on stores? Also, My mom said to just put it on our family plan. Can we do it or does it need an induvial plan?
