Can't open Word, pdf, rtf, email attachments on yahoo mobile?

When I click on the attachment the following comes up, "Yahoo! Mobile cannot display this attachment. Use the "View" link below to try opening it in your phone's browser." When I do this the error message pops up "File not supported" This same thing happens when I try to download it. The phone is an LG 840G from tracfone. Any help that can be given would be appreciated.

Simple enough answer really. Word files can only be opened by Microsoft Word, PDF files need adobe reader. If your phone has not got them on it then it cannot open them.
