So I finally got the alpine ktp-445 amp to work with my stock headunit ( by putting the blue/white with the switched 12v). After a couple hours of it working I decided to take it on the highway and see how loud it got. It works pretty well for the size but when I decided to challange it with some heavy bass it blew the fuse under the dash(15amps). It was probably peaking out at its max. 15amps/12v = 180watts = 45per channel. But the headunit is on this circuit as well. The amp has a fuse on it thats 15amps. Im not sure on how to wire this up to make it stop blowing the fuse. Maybe a capacitor? Im not sure... I know there isnt a gain control know to stop it from going that high so thats not an option.
Its a plug-and-play amp. So yeah it was made by alpine to run from the fusebox...
