I have the oil and filter changed on my 2006 Corolla ever 5,000 miles. At approx. 30,000 miles (in May 2011), I had a more elaborate service done, the one they called "30,000 mile service". It has now been 5,000 miles since my last oil change and I am at 44,400 miles. I know that they will suggest I get the 40,000 mile service done instead of just a regular oil and filter change, but I'm wondering: are these elaborate services every 10,000 miles (= every other oil change) necessary?
Is there a neutral website (one that is not influenced by businesses that make money off oil changes, etc.) that lists the services that should be performed on a car?
