Hi, I'm trying to organise a holiday for my parents and would like to rent them a car. However, every car rental service I've looked at seems to require the driver to have a credit card in their name so that a deposit can be blocked from the card. Obviously this is a problem as I am trying to arrange this holiday as a surprise! However, even if it weren't a surprise, the fact is that my dad doesn't have a credit card. Does anyone know of any car rental services (which operate in Ireland) which would accept a debit card or a cash deposit? It just seems ridiculous that people without credit cards are excluded from renting cars...
