Car stereo: 4-channel or 6-channel or how many channels?

I am looking for a car stereo. I find 2-channel, 4-channel, 6-channel and so on. I have a 2001 Honda Accord EX. It has two (6x9s) speakers at the back, two on the front doors, two tweeters way front near the windshield.
I know I should look for a stereo with a RMS output less than the capacity of my speakers.
How do I find out how many channel stereo I should choose? Right now, I have the stock 6-disc changer/casette player.

Just hook it up to the head unit, unless you want to get some subwoofers then go with the 6 channel.
you can always connect your tweets,
say your 6x9 are 2 ohm
you will want 4 ohm fronts that way if you bridge it will be 2 ohm stable. but a capacitor will work the same reducing the low frequency to the tweets.
