I recently installed a new Dual head unit in my vehicle, but there's a problem. When i turn on the ignition there is no power. I know it isn't a fuse and it is wired up to the best of my knowledge. The only way i have power is to wire the remote turn on (Blue) and the ignition (Red) wires together and touch them to the main power (Yellow) wire. Once it comes on i can remove the main power (Yellow) wire from the equation but the other two must remain connected for it to stay on. Also, Once i turn it off, i have to repeat the process to turn it back on. Not exactly sure what the problem could be. Help?

Year and model of the vehicle?

The blue wire isn't required to power the deck. I suspect that it will turn on if you just connect the red wire to the yellow wire. When you separate the two wires, it will shut off again.

It sounds like you don't have any power on the red accessory wire when the key is on. If you're certain it's not a fuse, then another possibility is that your vehicle doesn't have an accessory power wire in the radio harness.
