OK here's the Rub, I'm from and engineering background, but my lifestyle and interests have changed considerably!!!

(OK been doing it since i was 17 but since then i have come out as gay, and other stuff, deep down i know its not really the choice for me. So looking for other avenues; Jobs that are more gayfriendlyy would be a help lol!)

I have interests in keeping fit, and whilst in the army for a period of 7 years was very into my fitness, i know most of the muscles in the body, the basic physiology and the like; i used to love talking about new workout ideas etc....

However the major flaw for me is i have no actual interest in what would be termed team sports, or 'Ball Sports'. However in the Army i was nearly forced to go on my PTI course due to being so fit andknowledgeablee, and the troop was in need of a PTI, but i never jumped to do it due to the sports mong aspect!

I am wondering : Would having no interest in most ball sports be detrimental in me wanting to gopursuee a career in health and fitness? As I do have a passion for keeping fit, and i find itfascinatingg how it works, and a few times did imagine myself being a PTI in the army.

If it is then second choice is:

HR, managing human resource, justfascinatess me also how to arrange people look out for welfare and allocate themcorrectlyy dealing with issue etc... What type of work involved and would you say this is a rewarding / satisfying career.

or

Marketing, I love the sell, but would like to know a bit more on this. I wouldn't describe myself as overcompetitivee, if i enjoy something i REALLY excel at it. If i don't thenUnfortunatelyy i Suck worse than a baby at alollipopp festival.

All feedback (good or bad) that is constructive muchappreciatedd.

(OH BTW any homophobic, or anti-gay comments... Sad! and not wanted...)

Thank-youu :o)
Not saying that engineering is rubbish etc... just had a bit of a negative experience of being straight acting, but then being found 'out'.

People aren't that accepting in my veiw...

Plus i have to fit my personality in with a perceived type...

I'm chatty, and quite outgoing. Builder types always seem to air a caution with it. especially when i'm gay.

I think you should go for marketing, it's fun, exciting and forever changing. The big bonus is that marketing can lead you down so many different avenues. You could end up in advertising doing a campaign for the new fitness craze or something.

And I'm sure marketing people would be more accepting of you and would not judge you based on your personal choices....... well more so than engineering people i guess
