Carl Rogers?

Why would you consider Carl Rogers one of the best psychologists there ever was? It's ok for an answer to be completely bias.
 
My first wife was a psychologist, and I remember one of her jokes about a Rogerian therapist.

Patient on couch, therapist seated in a chair taking notes.
Patient : I've been so depressed lately I've been thinking a lot about suicide.

Shrink: So you are depressed and thinking about suicide?

Patient: Yeah, I just can't get it out of my mind. In fact I want to open that window and jump out.

Shrink: So you want to jump out the window?

Patient: Yeah, I think I'll do it. I'm going to jump out of that window.

Shrink: So you are going to jump out the window.

The Patient gets up from the couch and walks over to the window, The Shrink continues to scribble and study his notes.

The patient opens the window and jumps out, plunging seven stories to his death. As the Patient strikes the sidewalk, a resounding SPLAT, can be heard in the office.

Shrink: Hmmmm, SPLAT!

Rogers ain't my idea of a great therapist.
