carry on travel luggage question?

i will be traveling to Poland this summer via lot (Polish airlines), or i will fly to Germany first and then take the train to Poland to reduce travel costs. Either way, I was wonder if these airlines or any airlines let you take two carry on luggage instead of one if you do not have any other luggage, also, what is the weight and size limit for carry on luggage. Thanks ahead of time for the help.

You are usually allowed to take one carry-on plus one "personal item," i.e. a purse, computer bag, diaper bag, etc. A backpack would probably count, so I think you'd be fine.
