Priests make a lot of money blessing everything from boats to cars, farm animals, tobacco crops, even silkworm eggs. Priests bless soldiers and their weapons, police their guns, and on March 19, 1954, the pope blessed some 50,000 members of Italy’s crack Alpine troops. A priest charged an acquaintance of mine in the Philippines 1000 pesos to bless his new house.

Did you know that never did Jesus or his apostles do any such things? Jesus blessed his Father’s name, he blessed the bread and wine at the Last Supper, and he blessed the little children brought to him by fond parents.

Those blessings the priests are charging you for are nothing but the type of selfish requests that God does not listen to.

In addition, were you aware that those priests do not have the authority or power to bestow any kind of blessings because they refuse to honor God's name? Because of this fact God will not bestow favor on their blessing, but will turn it into a curse instead. Read these verses to see:

Mal 2:1-2 "And now, O priests, this command is for you...
If you will not hear, and if you will not set it on your heart to give glory to My name, says Jehovah of Hosts, then I will send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings. And indeed I have cursed it, because you do not set it on your heart." (Modern King James Version)

Jas 4:3 "You make your request but you do not get it, because your request has been wrongly made, desiring the thing only so that you may make use of it for your pleasure." (BBE)
To reflexologist:
I'm not making this stuff up. Here's one example of a pope blessing troops:
http://www.catholictranscript.org/archived-articles/209-swiss-guard-fifty-years-of-guarding-the-pope.html

"on Jan. 22, 1506, a group of 150 Swiss soldiers marched into Rome, where they were blessed by Pope Julius II – officially becoming the Pontifical Swiss Guard. He bestowed on them the title, “Defenders of the Church’s Freedom.”

Ok, maybe priests don't "charge" for services. But they sure do require
hefty "donations!"

Funny you ask where it is forbidden to bless these things in "your bible." Isn't it yours as well? The scripture I provided at James 4:3 answers your question.

And here's my source for "holy-water" in bottles. Sorry you didn't realize what your priests are doing behind your back.

Excellent Question: And the scriptures are awesome as well. I did not know this, but I do now. I knew they blessed things. As with a friend of mine, she is divorced and remarried, she is considered an Adulterer but, if she and her husband pays the Church 500.00 they can be forgiven of the sin of divorce and take communion again. She does not attend he church because she has to sit there and motion for people to pass her by because she is looked down upon. The only time I even thought about the Catholic's being good, well not them but because they were/are so lazed in their beliefs is when I was trying to stop smoking in 94. I told my husband at the time, why can't I just be a catholic and say a hell Mary here or there and be done with it. LOL, I was being nasty....I would not trade serving Jehovah God for anything in this old world.

As soon as I saw "priests make a lot of money" I knew right away you are an anti-Catholic in serious need of correction. Send me the name of this priest, and his parish so I can report your story to his bishop. ( I think you are lieing)

660 When any of the faithful wish to mark their moving into a new home with a religious celebration, the parish priest (pastor) and his associates should gladly cooperate. The occasion provides a special opportunity for a gathering of the members of the community to mark the joyful event and to thank God, from whom all blessings come, for the gift of a new home.

661 The present order may be used by a priest or deacon. It may also be used by a layperson, who follows the rites and prayers designated for a lay minister.

662 While maintaining the structure and chief elements of the rite, the minister should adapt the celebration to the circumstances of the place and the people involved.

663 There is to be no blessing of a new home unless those who will live in it are present.

This proves you just don't understand what a blessing means.
SAMPLE BLESSING:
INTRODUCTORY RITES
664 When the family members and their relatives and friends have gathered in a convenient place, the minister says: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

All make the sign of the cross and reply: Amen.

665 A minister who is a priest or deacon greets those present in the following or other suitable words, taken mainly from sacred Scripture. Peace be with this house and with all who live here.

All make the following or some other suitable reply. And also with you.

666 A lay minister greets those present in the following words. May the God whom we glorify with one heart and voice enable us, through the Spirit, to live in harmony as followers of Christ Jesus, now and for ever. R. Amen.
(OOOoo that scary number! "followers of Christ Jesus" must be a deception!!!)

667 In the following or similar words, the minister prepares those present for the blessing. When Christ took flesh through the Blessed Virgin Mary, he made his home with us. Let us now pray that he will enter this home and bless it with his presence. May he always be here among you; may he nurture your love for each other, share in your joys, comfort you in your sorrows. Inspired by his teachings and example, seek to make your new home before all else a dwelling place of love, diffusing far and wide the goodness of Christ.

READING OF THE WORD OF GOD

668 A reader, another person present, or the minister reads a text of sacred Scripture. Brothers and sisters, listen to the words of the holy gospel according to Luke:

10:5-9 Peace to this house. The Lord said to the seventy-two: "Into whatever house you enter, first say, 'Peace to this household.' If a peaceful person lives there, your peace will rest on him; but if not, it will return to you. Stay in the same house and eat and drink what is offered to you, for the laborer deserves his payment. Do not move about from one house to another. Whatever town you enter and they welcome you, eat what is set before you, cure the sick in it and say to them, 'The kingdom of God is at hand for you."'

669 Or: Genesis 18:1-10a--Lord, do not pass your servant by. Mark 1:29-30--Jesus went straight to Simon's house. Luke 10:38-42--Martha welcomed Jesus into her house. Luke 19:1-9--Today salvation has come to this house. Luke 24:28-32--Stay with us.

670 As circumstances suggest, the following responsorial psalm may be sung or said, or some other suitable song.

R. Happy are those who fear the Lord.

Psalm 112 read or sung

Psalm 127:1, 2, 3-4, 5 R. (see v. 1) The Lord will build a house for us.

Psalm 128:1-2, 3, 4-6a R. (v. 4) See how the Lord blesses those who fear him.

671 As circumstances suggest, the minister may give those present a brief explanation of the biblical text, so that they may understand through faith the meaning of the celebration.

INTERCESSIONS

672 The intercessions are then said. The minister introduces them and an assisting minister or one of those present announces the intentions. From the following intentions those best suited to the occasion may be used or adapted, or other intentions that apply to the particular circumstances may be composed.

The minister says: The Son of God, Lord of heaven and earth, made his home among us. With thankfulness and gladness let us call upon him, saying:

R. Stay with us, Lord.

Or: R. Lord, hear our prayer.

Assisting minister: Lord Jesus Christ, by your life with Mary and Joseph you sanctified the life of the home; dwell with us in our home, so that we may have you as our guest and honor you as our Head. (For this we pray:) R.

The house blessing continues. http://www.catholicculture.org/culture/liturgicalyear/prayers/view.cfm?id=742
Show me where any of this is forbidden by your Bible. Popes and bishops don't bless weapons. (someone lied to you, probably the media)

A lot of money? Are you serious?

The priest in the Philippines is the abnormal, in my experience. The priests at my church don't charge to do things like that. I've never been charged once for having something blessed.

And just because Jesus didn't do something doesn't mean it's bad. Blessing an item is in no way bad or wrong. What's wrong with it? Now, charging a lot of money to do it is probably wrong. I suppose charging a little depending on how much it cost the priest to get there could be something. I mean, if he spends $5 in gas to get there, charging for that isn't outlandish, especially given how little money they make.

I think you're over exaggerating something.

Jesus came to the earth as a messenger of God the Almighty, Jehovah. He preached the Kingdom of God and taught the poor, the needy. He did not look at background, he saw the heart and felt pity for those who were in need of spiritual things.

and those making use of the world as those not using it to the full; for the scene of this world is changing.
1 Corinthians 7:31

For we must all be made manifest before the judgment seat of the Christ, that each one may get his award for the things done through the body, according to the things he has practiced, whether it is good or vile.
2 Corinthians 5:10

Stop storing up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break in and steal. 20*Rather, store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21*For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:19-21

The blessing of Jehovah—that is what makes rich, and he adds no pain with it.
Proverbs 10:22

Bring all the tenth parts into the storehouse, that there may come to be food in my house; and test me out, please, in this respect,” Jehovah of armies has said, “whether I shall not open to YOU people the floodgates of the heavens and actually empty out upon YOU a blessing until there is no more want.”
Malachi 3:10

*And YOU must serve Jehovah YOUR God, and he will certainly bless your bread and your water; and I shall indeed turn malady away from your midst
Exodus 23:25

God the Almighty should be blessed by mankind, as he blesses man. The sun rises and sets, the rains fall, the crops grow. These are blessings no man can give. Blessing material things is futile and a show of ignorance where God is concerned.

Priests don't get paid additional money beyond their stipend to bless things. It's part of their job. Where do you get all this crap about priests selling blessings and holy water and all this. You haven't cited anything to support the claims you make.

No priests don't "make a lot of money" giving blessings. Blessings cannot be sold. The ministry of conferring blessings is part of the priest's service to God and His people. There is no money involved. Such a blessing is a simple prayer to God to watch over and protect that which is blessed. Why would this be a problem for you?? Don't you believe that God hears prayers??

They are just trying to supplement their income. Give them a break.

He probably okay's the blessing of things
He doesn't like all the molesting they do
to his kids----- It's so many i think they
all do it ???

most priests do not charge for their blessings, and those that do will be punised for it

it is the person not the organization, that is corupted

They make "a lot of money" blessing sacramentals? Holy-guacomole! That is NEWS to me -- because I have had a ton of things blessed and haven't paid a dime! They give their lives to poverty and here they're making money on the sly? No kidding?

You don't actually know any priests or what the heck you are talking about -- do you?
