I have lately been experiencing a staticy sound through my ute's speakers, when the engine is off it is just a low static, when the engine is on it gets more electrical, crackling a little. and as my revs pass about 2500 it generates a whine which gets louder with more revs.

The problem is not in either the head unit or the RCA's, as the sounds persist with a different RCA and even without the RCA plugged in to the 2channel amplifier at all.

My audio system is comprised of a Rockford Fosgate Punch (P200-2) 2 channel amplifier and Rockford Fosgate Power (T165-S) component speakers (with brand new Rockford Fosgate Power (T1T-S) tweeters {The problem pre-dates the instillation of these new tweeters}.

What other measures can I take to try to rid my audio system of this horrible noise??

Your shorting out...blown speaker maybe...bad ground...did u change your spark plugs lately.... if so you have resistor spark plugs either way it's a short in essence
