Hi I own a toshiba Satellite c655 laptop, windows 7 and my cd/dvd drive is TssTcorp CDDVDW TS-L633C aperentaly it isnt detecting any Cds or DvD not even the blank Cds or Dvds i've tried looking into the drivers updates and it says that the driver is up to date and working properly on divice manager. i have also tried uninstalling an reinstalling the driver, it opens and closes and the light flashes and it acts as if though it has detected it but it doesn't i've also tried burning using many different programs like nero, dvd flick, sonic, roxio etc. not sure what i can do well any ways plz help i hope ive given enough info on it :(

clean the lens the tiniest speck of dust or fluff on the lens can render this marvel of the 21st century useless

Download the driver from Toshiba for TssTcorp CDDVDW TS-L633C. Device manger is only checking Windows drivers and will say it is working because that driver is loaded.

If it is showing up in "my computer" then the drive is bad. You can get a replacement very cheaply these days. $30-40 on ebay. There will be 1 screw holding the drive in at the bottom of the laptop or behind one of the removable panels on the bottom.
Once you have found the correct screw it will just slide out. (with the CD draw OPEN pull the whole drive out gently)

If it is not showing up in "my computer" there is a registry fix for this"
