CD DVD drives swapping?

I want to swap my drives/burners to a different computer. where can I find the specifications for each of my computers. one is a windows XP Pro. the other is a Windows 7 if that helps

XP/7 doesn't help. You need the hardware info.

If you know the PC model number, you can google it along with "specs" to (usually) find the specifications.

nope, doesn't help.

you need the make and model of them. example: HP Pavilion dv6000

type your make and model into google, along with the word "specs". it will tell you what you need. it will either be a SATA drive, or an ATA (PATA or IDE) drive. look for that.
