Cell Phone - fitted case for protection?

I recently signed onto a cell phone plan that came with a Samsung phone. The phone retails for $100 (which seems inflated.) I opted not to buy a warranty because of the ridiculous price. However, the phone feels a little fragile. Will a fitted case offer enough protection that the phone would not break if I accidentally dropped it?
 
Yes, go for a leather fitted case. My sis has one for her Samsung from sprint and it's nearly indestructable :)
 
Consider a leather fitted case. I have one for my Blackberry Pearl and it works great. I've dropped it many times and nothing has happened to the phone.
