I just finished jailbreaking my iPhone 3Gs to a custom iOS4 firmware. The first step I wanted to take was changing the default root password. The only way I know how to do this is by using the MobileTerminal App. Unfortunately this app was just updated last week for iOS4 and is still unstable. It doesn't work on the 3Gs running iOS4. Crashes after half a second.
How can I change the root password without using MobileTerminal? Anybody know of an alternative?
