I am at the Acura dealer because my car just stopped middle of the road last night. Reason being, I just replaced battery last week but the positive battery cable has problem so dealer said that I need to replace it. The cable itself cost 111.99 and labor is about 240.00 I think its redicurously costly.
could anyone have any suggestions about this?? or is this the average cost to change positive battery cost??

its not a hard fix

i linked a eHow on a procedure...
all cars are the same in this aspect lol

If you're mechanically inclined ,you can do it yourself for free!
All you would have to do it buy the part!
Otherwise spend the $300!

Their is no average, Honda charges whatever they please.

If you are able, remove the old one and take it to a parts shop who sells battery cable by the foot, usually 2 to 3 dollars a foot, and buy the same length as the old one. They will also have the replacement connectors. Assemble and replace. Your cost will be about $30. Dealers are not a good place to take your vehicle unless it is a warranty or recall issue which are free. They give you the impression that only they can fix your car. They have a book in which they use as a guide for repair times which are outragious which in your case looks like 2 hours at over $100 an hour and use a nicely packaged replacement part with their name on it also at an outragious price. Do you really think Honda made that cable?
