Cheapest way from PA to DC?

Hey guys,

My friend in Lancaster, PA (who has very minimal car access) wants to come visit me and I live in Washington, DC. Amtrak tickets are extremely expensive, and my student ID isn't applicable for a discount.

What's the best (cheapest) way for him to get to me?
 
Round trip by Greyhound is $92.00 if bought on the internet and only 2 days early
If bought 2 weeks early it is the same price.
