Child doesn't argue back with parents? Will they be able to stand up for their self?

We all know that arguing with parents is part of growing up. But what if a child whom is at the age between 13-17, doesn't argue back, Doesn't stand up for themselves? They are passive? What kind of person will they be when they are grown? Will they stand up for themselves in the real world?
