I think so. I mean they are there own person. However I think they should at-least know what there getting into. It's almost like telling someone how to live there life. You just can't. In the end children are going to grow up and do what they really wanna do. Everyone does.
 
as long as they better do something useful and beneficial in society.
 
yes and no...they can choose wat they wanna be when they are older what they want to do with their life....HOWEVER parents also have to guide them on their journey and they must point them towards the right path.....u might say sometimes parents dont always know wats best for their children and instead of directing em on the right path they send them down the wrong way. this is where the yes part of my answer comes in....sometimes children know wats best for em and this is comin from a personal experience.
 
Since when do children know what is real in life as they are developing cognitive functions. Parents would not be necessary to guide and love them.
 
My experience with children is that they always make the wrong decision.

They need to be told what is right.
 
Yes but they should be guided through adolescence until they are old enough to really form their opinions and think for themselves.
