Sorry trying to remember children's book from years ago.
there are two (i believe but were short stories so might have been one)
one was about a boy who was in trouble a lot, and some of the adventures he had, including running from someone and having to hide in a store window and grabbing a 5pence sign. and having two old ladies remark about his outfit. the mother pinning money to his clothing i believe to get a cheese from a store.
the other was a creepy story where a couple children (i believe kill a cat, or something like that) and was neighbours and their baby (brother or sister) ends up in a pig pen and one of the children having to use a ladder so they did not get stuck in the mud and get eaten by the pigs.
the name tobermory springs to mind and the audio book had a cat.
if anyone can help let me know. and ask questions it might jog my memory
