My neighbor is a health nut. She is constantly working out and eats very healthy. She doesn't eat much red meat or fatty foods. She does eat lots of nuts, vegetables, fruits. Her diet mainly consists of raw foods, but she does eat a cooked meal once or twice a week. Her cholesterol is still dangerously high, and is still rising. I can't find any info, and her doctor seems to be incompetent.

Cholesterol can be genetic as well as life style. Find a new doctor, that is really all that can happen. There are medications out there for people who have a very healthy lifestyle but high cholesterol. These meds must be prescribed my a doc.

A large factor that determines a person's cholesterol level is genetic, independent of what the person eats.

Keep in mind that intake of dietary cholesterol has little effect on blood cholesterol. Intake of other things, such as saturated fat, have a greater effect.

Also, remember that total cholesterol is not nearly as important as the type of cholesterol. Some cholesterol is good, some is not. The ratio is more important than the total.
