choosing over a SUV or pick up truck?

i'm 16 and like the outdoors ,love to hunt and ride quad and dirt bikes .so i need something to pull a trailer and when i grow up (23) i wanted a small feather lite travel trailer . if i go with a truck it can't be no bigger then a 1500 or f-150 also it must be american made what would you recommend .

i do have a small trailer to haul toys
 
Extended cab 4x4 pickup, either GM or Ford. That way you can carry a few passengers and still have a useful cargo bed.
 
I think in the end you will be happy with a truck. more masculine.
