Chris Paul has had a busy year. He’s been traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, watched that trade get vetoed, then traded to the Los Angeles Clippers, got bounced in the 2012 NBA playoffs, won a Gold Medal for Team USA and now it’s time for a break. During this break, Chris Paul has decided to undergo thumb surgery. The thumb surgery is to repair a torn ligament.
Due to the surgery, Chris Paul is expected to miss about two months. While he will miss the start of training camp and probably a chunk of the preseason, the point guard for the Clippers should be back by the 2012-13 season opener.
Chris Paul was originally injured late last NBA season. During the Olympics, he re-injured his thumb.
Said Vinny Del Negro, head coach of the Clippers: “It was something we wanted him to get done now so it doesn’t bother him later. He’ll be back before the start of the season.”
After helping the Clippers advance to the second round last season, he’ll be looking to do even more this upcoming year.
