Christian or atheist, why can't we just get along?

Seriously. The arguments on the internet are becoming ridiculous. I watched a clip of the simpsons on youtube and the comments were all arguments about evolution and creation. It's an ongoing, pointless argument. If evolution is right, we're all going to die. If creation is right, we're all going to die. If both are wrong, we're all going to die.
@gexi that's exactly my point
by the way, i know nothing will ever change and people will continue to argue. i guess i'm just mad about the whole thing. the concept of getting along is so simple, but so complicated.
One thing I have gained is a dark sense of humor, which I've had since about middle school. If it weren't for all the bickering and hatred which stems from such topics, then I guess I wouldn't have as much material to work with. That's one thing I can thank both sides for.

"If evolution is right, we're all going to die."

You got that right. If life is a product of chance then there is no purpose for life and it will end without any purpose.

"If creation is right, we're all going to die."

If creation is right then that means we are created by God for a specific purpose and although we may die a temporal death, that's not the end of life. The purpose for which life is created will come to fruition.

I think both sides are not only convinced that they are right, but that they are somehow helping people by showing them the truth. Christians want to keep you out of hell. Atheists want to stop you sounding ignorant. It's all rooted in basic, good human nature. [/sarcasm]

Because as i see some like to be in the right.
When is the human going to realize that we don't know and never will.
Reading old scriptures or making up stuff doesnt tell me and thank you some others neither.
Just like Einstein ones said, the human is a coinsidens, its good to have a brain, but it can hurt our living together. And that i do know.

True, death is inevitable. There should not be any arguments, the deciding factor is where will your soul reside for eternity after death. For the short time we reside on planet earth it is truly amazing the wasted precious life and time spent on futile matters.

I'll get along better with atheists when they aren't all bigoted jerks who can't bear the thought of someone basing their values on faith and actually defending unborn human life

Simple answer??? Bcuz everyone wants to be "right"... which roots from PRIDE... atheist or christian or not doesn't matter, the pride and arrogance and bickering would never sway me to want to be an imitator of either...humans need to be loving despite what they believe..and if they really want to convert someone then they need to "walk it out" and LOVE people to the truth =)

Indeed, it truly is a futile argument in which neither side is going to convert the other. I continually exhort others here to more constructive uses of their time than asking questions intended to inflame others and leaving snarky comments to questions which do not concern them.

Alas, I fear my words are all too often in vain.

Thank you!!! I don't understand why we all can't just believe what we want and stop trying to force our own beliefs down each others throats.

Most people are unwilling to let that happen. Sorry, but most religions teach to reject those who aren't religious, especially Christianity. So, they're pretty much doing their jobs. Horribly well.

have a nice day.

I definitely agree with you, but it's not going to change anything... BOTH sides have those complete a*s holes who think they're right, and anyone else is wrong and ignorant for believing in what they do.
