Not only archaeological and historical evidence in the pre Israel days at Southern Levant are proofing this statement but the Old Testament itself claim that the Jews have a struggle of worshiping other Gods, the anthropomorphic attributes of Yahweh, and the connection of Yahweh of the bible and archaeological and historical evidence.
There many polytheistic gods and goddesses were around the Semitic people.

So, christians and atheists, what is your reaction to the statement?
Survivor: You misunderstood the question.
Judaism was once polytheistic or other words, it evolve from polytheistism.

And no, Christiany evolve from Judaism. You can't change that.

Yeah I knew this from the bible. The Israelites was worshipping a golden calf just after seeing God part the sea for them. All people do weird stuff from time to time. However, they came back to their senses.

Youre rewriting history, thats not cool. Judaism got most of its stuff from Zorostrianism, another monotheistic faith.

Yes, this is true. Check out this episode of NOVA for some really cool information about this: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/bible/. It's also probable that much of Judaism was borrowed from neighboring people, including YHWH (their god!) He was probably borrowed from the Midians, who had a god named YHW, and its likely some Canaanite slaves were freed (or escaped) from their Egyptian overlords. On the way home, they passed through Midia and learned of one of their gods - one who favored slaves. This is really fascinating stuff!
