Atheist-You say believing in God gives a person false hope. So what? Is a person having false hope hurting you in anyway? No. Let them have their beliefs.
Christains-Stop hating Atheists just because they don't believe in a Diety. You should respect their opinions and ideas (As well as Atheists should Christians) and stop casting out judgements.

I would like a source that documents my having said that belief in X gives a person false hope. But, going along with it, YES. There have been many cases of science being halted by the false belief in such garbage and it needs to stop. I do not want to die because of X's followers being a little bit too loud and saying that such and such is wrong.

That is all.

Clearly you fail to understand the advantages in this debate and discussion.

We are challenging each other, which ins exactly what we need to be doing. If we're going to be stating these particular beliefs, then we need to be held accountable for our statements and beliefs.

I think it's far more healthy than refusing to say anything just for the sake of being politically correct.
