I think we're attributing the way people present themselves to their beleifs alone, instead of them as individuals. And I think its an indirect way of avoiding responsibility for our actions.
Also I'm dismayed to notice that mostly all these answers are Non-religious people blaming the Christians for starting all the fights, which is not always the case. I'm an Athiest myself, and since I know we take relish in our "logical answers", it's ironic to me that we're pointing fingers.
