Christians: idol making and worship?

Why do Christians allow their children to play with dolls when the 10 commandments state:
"You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them."

Dolls and action figures are definitely a likeness of something that is on the Earth. For that matter paintings and pictures are a likeness of a person. Why do you do this when the Bible so clearly states that it is wrong?

You my friend just want nothing more to sit back and act smug by asking this question. It is stupid to even ask this question knowing that you most likely already no the answer, you ask this in spite and nothing more.

Ignorance can be cured stupidity can not.
