Me thinks: People assume "God" and Christianity (or the Judeo-Christian concept of god) are synonymous to Yahveh ( ????, YHWH).
If there is a so-called God in the sense that most tend to think of the term God, there is no proof that "God" is the Judeo-Christian concept over one of the many many others. People generally just adopt the concept of god that sounds best to them or inherit the concept of god their family/culture/society/part of the world presents to them.
