If the point of your religion is salvation...saving people from this hell that he created, then your god doesn't seem to be doing a very good job.
Every Christian I've ever spoken with tells me that most people will be going to hell...that it's difficult to get into heaven.
Is it because your god isn't very good at getting the message across effectively, or is it because he intends for most people to not get/understand the message on go to hell?
If your version of the universe is correct, there's no way around the fact that your god is failing miserably.
scooterpoop...if your point is simply numbers, then it's also a fact that most of the world is NOT Christian.

Sorry.
That means you're wrong by your own measure.
Jordan....let's say you're correct "I don't know what I'm in for".
Whose fault is that?
Mine?
How could it be if I don't know?
Again, you've simply reinforced my stated position. Your god isn't doing a very good job if your religion is correct.
Nerdyninja - ok, what percentage makes your god a success?
If only 40% of his own creations end up being tortured forever (or simply being poofed into non-existence, depending on your understanding of hell) would you say that's successful?
Would your job allow you to be right 60% of the time and wrong 40% of the time?
How much more should your god be correct?

Holy Caliber - Really? So, those who aren't smart enough are going to hell? And you think I might be among them?
Then how is that my fault?
If I'm not smart enough, how does that even make sense?

Hopefully, you don't really mean that answer.
tida - so, you are (literally) saying god is a "love me or suffer for all eternity" situation?
wow. again, this doesn't seem very effective to me, nor does it actually sound like a choice.
the police would call that coercion.

For not being very effective, there are more poeple who like him than atheism.

Face it:

The "God" concept works for everyone. Only atheists have a personal problem with him, and you actually have to believe in God to antagonize him.

no kidding!

it is one of the silliest cults i've ever heard of-----god...save me from you!!! I swear i'll wear kneepads for ya...even though i know you already love me unconditionally

Look, God chose to give people free will. He gave people the choice, and they have to deal with the consequences.
And I do not believe most people are going to Hell. I think some Christians just like feeling superior (I myself am Christian and I can't stand it when someone tries to tell someone else they are going to Hell. Maybe they are, but who are they to say who is and isn't?)

It's a Choice. Whether you want to go to hell, or Heaven. You choose if you Believe in God, or Not. We Spread the Word, and people choose if they want to Accept Jesus in their heart. And the CHOOSE whether they want to Believe in Him. and it's true. Going to Heaven will be Difficult, yet worthy. God wants EVERYONE to go to Heaven, but He would never Force anyone to Love, or Believe in Him. Because if He Forced people, that wouldn't be Real Love, would it? That's why He gave us the Gift of Choosing to go to Heaven, and Choosing to Accept His Gift. Which is Salvation.

In the first place there is no hell, it is a greek myth.
In the second place you have to be smart enough to understand God and accept his plan for salvation.

Who's the dummy then?
