Chrysler key chain attachment for locking the doors?

I have a 1999 Chrysler and I was recently given a key chain thing where you can lock the car-unlock it... Don't know the name for it but that one goes to a 2002. How do I go about getting it re-programed to match my car, that is if they are even interchangeable? Thanks in advance.

its called a KEY FOB and the dealer can program it for your car, only if the key fob is the same one that came with the car originally (well not the exact one but one just like it)

The dealer will need to program it to your car. At most, it should cost about $40-50 for programming. Good Luck.
