chrysler voyager battery problem?

I have a chrysler voyager W reg (2000), After the cold weather I had a flat battery. The Green flag chap jump started it and said to get a new battery - only bought it a year ago! I haven't managed to get one yet as looking for the guarantee but it has been a couple of weeks and it is now starting to take time to start. Is it the battery or could it be the alternator?
