Just what are you looking to do? Most machine shops I know who clean engine components prior to working on them, use a parts washer and brushes. The parts washer will have a commercially available product that is gonna vary by shop/mechanics choice.
The stuff I have in mine right now is called "purple "something or other. Sorry I am not in the shop looking at the container right now. The stuff last forever and is available in 5 gallon, 1 gallon, and quart sized. Dilute to suit the job you are doing and go to town.
