It's very prominent on earlier model Rodeos (97 and back) and Subaru GL. I understand the GL because of its Boxer engine but that doesn't explain the Rodeo. You can also hear the clicking on older 4-Runners.
My intention of this question is not for posts on what may be wrong with the car. Nothing is wrong with these car mechanically. They came off the line brand new sounding like this. I would just like to know what causes it.
