Closed Captioning not on new Directv receiver?

I believe I had an HR21 receiver before, where I could hit the yellow circle button on my remote and a list would pop up, where I'd have the option of DTV Subtitles and CC. I just moved and they put in an R16 {pretty sure} - the new DVR? I do not have any options whatsoever that I could find for Closed Captioning. If I'm not available to use it, I'd rather just not have TV at all as I don't catch a lot of things - especially with me watching older programs with low-grade sound quality.

P.S. I may be wrong on the receiver models.
