Sound like its coming from front axle or half shafts. Also from transfer case. Or u-joints. Question is how do i check this out for sure.
This noise stops at speeds over 60 mph. The tighter you turn the wheel, more slipping noise it makes. If u are gentle on the gas there is no noise: however. under any acceleration or incline the clunking noise returns. Automatic transmission works fine. Mechanics think transfer case is the problem. HELP.

HELLO, noises are the hardest to find, but first I would start by separating components. Disconnect the drive shafts from both differentials (remove the shafts one at a time and drive the vehicle) while you have the drive shafts off the vehicle check the u-joints for any play. Then start checking front cv joints and transfer case. Sorry but you may need some help to finish checking this yourself. Good Luck.
