Clutch On The Way Out of Fiat Punto?

Car: 1999 Fiat Punto V reg 1.2Litre

Lately my car has been playing up. When i pull away, whether it's in 1st gear or reverse the car starts to judder heavily as if the clutch has been lifted to high and it wants to stall... it never does stall but this is how it feels. It feels like the bite point is quite soft and not sudden how it used to be - i apologise for my amateur description of whats wrong but would really appreciate any help.

What could be the cause/problem as i'm not very car savvy??

Many Thanks :D

Common fault with Puntos. Probably crank oil seal has gone, contaminating clutch with oil. £2 part that needs about 6 hours labour, so I'd live with it on a 10 year old Punto because it's not worth fixing.
It'll go on for quite a while like this before you just can't drive it.
