Code 1776 2004 Chrysler Concorde?

I've recently run into a problem with my Concorde. The check engine light came on and the car would not shift out of low. I took it to a transmission shop and they pulled a code 1776. They said it would probably cost 1k to fix, but wouldn't know until they pulled the pan down and valve body out? Just wondering if anyone had any info on this problem. I'm not having any shifting problems today, and it only lasted one day. The light is still on, but shift is good. I don't have 1k for these guys to be guessing what the problem is.

Thanks,

From what I just looked at, seems you either have transmission fluid leak, and the cars computer recognized it, let alone a shift problem. Reason they are saying that, is to pull the transmission out to see if you had caused further damage from the low fluid levels. Hope thats not the case. Check and top the trans fluid to the proper level, as it seems you stated that it feels, or drives fine now.
