Collections will not make delete agreement, will sprint?

I had an account when i was 18 with sprint for a few months, i then lost my job and had no way to pay it off. I am now 21 and received a letter from cavalry portfolio services offering to cut my balance of 200 in half , a settlement. However, they will not agree to delete this off my credit after payment is made. So i have heard you can call the original creditor and attempt to reconcile with them as well. Has anyone received a pay and delete from sprint, years after the fact? will they have my info? I just wanna hear some experiences and go into making this call with more knowledge. I dont wanna pay the shady collections if its only gonna make my score worse by updating it, also, will this fall off my credit at a 7 year mark? or is that only when its been paid it will fall off after 7 years. thanks!
