My College's networking and IT people are blocking anything to do with torrents. I can go and browse torrent sites; however, when I click "Download torrent" it does not download. I can use tor and download the torrent file, but once it opens in BitLord, it does not actually download.
For a while, I was using this program called SmartHide, but somehow the service has been drastically cut back. I used to connect to a US server and get anywhere between 50-800 kb/s.
But due to the cutting, there's only one MY (Malaysia) server. This thing gets me like 15kb/s and makes it impossible to download and use a browser simultaneously.
So, my question is: is there anyway to bypass the restrictions the school has put in place to prevent the use of p2p programs and torrents?
I use BitLord primarily, however I would not objective having to use utorrent or vuze/azureus.
