I've had this computer for nearly two years now, and before this, i used Windows XP, but a couple of weeks back, i installed Windows 7 Ultimate (the 64-bit edition), and ever since late last week, this problem started.
Basically, if i switch on the computer, before it even hits the Windows startup, it'll restart several times on its own. At first i thought it was something to do with the power supply, so i switched the power plug (i found out it was loose), and that seemed to solve the problem.
For a few days.
This morning, the whole thing started again. Sometimes it can go all the way up to me signing into my account, and then going off suddenly, which is horrible, because i lose a lot of the stuff i'm working on. And if i accidentally even TAP the table, it just switches off. Or someone could close my room door (albeit a bit harder than usual) and it'll still go off.
As far as i know, the fan is working fine (there aren't any weird noises or whatever), so i don't think it could be a result of overheating - usually it starts when i switch on the computer for the first time.
Is it a software problem or a hardware one? What can i do about it?
Thanks!
Oh yeah, sorry, but this isn't exactly related, but why is it if i put the computer in sleep mode, and then switch it back on, it ALWAYS freezes? Is it something wrong with windows 7?
