My computer has been recently not recognizing any cd's that are put into it's cd/dvd player. the WMP/ Windows Media Player is totally oblivious, how to fix this? in other words, my laptop shows no sign of anything even being 'fed' a new cd and/or dvd. what gives? how can i fix this? thank you for the help!

hmm sounds like either your driver has gone bad or your cd drive has burn out.. what kind of operating system are you running. window xp windows vista or windows 7.. Try clicking the start menu. and right click on my computer, and goto manage if a window pops up and ask you if you want to do that just click ok.. then on the right side of the window click device manager. if you see any yellow "!" right click those and click update driver. for your cd drive youll see a tab for dvd/cd drive right click it and click update driver. let me know what happens next
