Conversion to Judaism?

Desperate help needed. A few months ago I converted to Judaism after being pressured by my boyfriend and a local rabbi. I went through the process even being bathed in the Mikveh. I have since done a lot of soul searching and have determined that this is not for me. My family is Christian and this is where my faith lies. I am now attempting to have the conversion nullified, but the rabbi is now conveniently claiming that there is nothing he can do (how rightous of him). He actually told me to just forget the conversion and go back to Church. The problem is that my church will not accept me back until the conversion is nullified. Please help. The synagogue won't do anything to help me. What can I do? I am considering legal action or possibly traveling to Israel is necessary.
 
Sorry, pea, there is nothing you CAN do as the conversion was not valid. NO Orthodox rabbinic court (in US or in Israel) will entertain your case as you will 1) not be considered a Jew or 2) not be considered a valid candidate for orthodox conversion.

I believe the reason the rabbi was so nonchalant about it is because he knew the conversion (Reform/Conservative) would not be considered valid outside of his own community anyway. It is a rampant problem in the US and it is spreading to Israel. And I am not sure why they mislead people, but I believe the only way to make these rabbis stop is if sincere converts start SUING for DAMAGES (monies paid, financial consequences due to misrepresentation).

I see a time coming when orthodox rabbis put a moratorium on converting non-Jews all together. You can thank your friendly neighborhood Reform/Conservative rabbi for that and the loads of johnny-come-lately's with ulterior motives, including impressing a boyfriend or fiance.

IF your church says you can't come back, then there you have it. Find a new one, if not there is always Islam.

I am SO sorry that the KJV does not teach you the difference between the requirement for being born b'nei Israel (through the mother) and the requirement for tribal inheritance (through the father). But if your mother is not Jewish, born as Rivka or converted as Ruth, it does not matter who your father is. Do you deny this is written?

I now see from previous questions that there were emotional 'scars' that probably require greater attention.

I apologize if i stated the truth too harshly, but I am tired of people misrepresenting the Torah and/or degrading it down to lox and bagels, and I am not going to get any nicer about it.

The USA Jewsish church is a slightly twisted version of Judeaism.. They keep the lineage by the woman's name which is totally non-biblical.. If you read the book for yourself, yu will see that the lineage of the tribe is always kept by the man's name. Also , you can't convert to Judeaism. The JEws are the blood relative descendants of the man Jacob. You have to be born a jew by bloodline. Do a study on the word stranger and see that Isreal was commanded to allow the stranger to join them in worshipping God. Gen. 17:12, to Abraham/ Ex 12:48 to Moses/ Eze. 47:22. Christians don't understand that we are trying to join the religion of the jews, but as the strangers or gentiles. Jesus is a jew and did not come to start a new religion. when He crried out," it is finished ," from the cross: He was refering to the covenenat with Isreal finally being finished. Don't worry about doctrines and rituals performed by men.. Get Baptized and pray to our Father and He will accept you
 
I have never heard of a conversion being "nullified". Even someone born Jewish can convert to Christianity. I've never heard of a church rejecting someone like that.
 
The Rabbi was being honest with you. If you haven't converted in your heart or 'soul', then the conversion never really took place. The rituals you underwent are meaningless and void if you didn't actually convert inside. In other words, you never converted. That's why the Rabbi is telling you that there's nothing he can do. You can't 'unconvert' someone who isn't converted. You're not. The problem here is the lack of perception on the part of your church, not on the part of the Rabbi.

If you never converted in your heart to Judaism, then you're not Jewish. There is no need to "deconvert."

Whether your Christian church recognizes you as Jewish or Christian is immaterial. Aren't you just supposed to accept JC as your savior in order to be Christian? There might be another reason your church doesn't want to accept you back (maybe because you're gay?), in which case you might want to try to find another, more accepting church.
