Could I sneak my cat into my apartment?

I am moving into a new apartment and can't bare to leave my kitty behind. The place allows pets but wants 20 dollars a month on top of a 300 dollar deposit for just one cat! Do you think we could secretly keep her there? She isn't vocal and we would take her out when maintenance is necessary. Would this work? Would we get caught?
 
Its a risky situation. Maybe you should have looked into that before you moved in. (not trying to be a smart mouth or anything). Try it and see how it goes. If you get caught then good luck is all I can say!
 
Yes, you most likely would. Landlords reserve the right to enter your unit even without warning so the cat would be seen. Cats also like to sit on windowsills.

If you truly "can't bear" to leave your cat behind why on earth are you taking an apartment that doesn't allow cats? Ones that do are NOT that hard to find. What's the alternative? Dumping it at a shelter? How sad that you'd pick an apartment over your pet.

Maybe the shelter WOULD be the best thing for this cat. At least then he'd find someone that puts HIM as a deal breaker when it comes to where to rent! Shame on you.
 
I don't think it's a good idea, it's never ever a good idea to hide things because unfortunately someone always uncovers the truth.

Try talking to the landlord and telling them that you are struggling a bit financially, can do the 20 dollars a month but (pleedingly) would like it if you could get away with not paying the deposit (or some other deal).
 
it kinda depends on the apartments, maybe they do checks of your unit and your not there....maybe i don't know
