Lol okkk, so just tonight i was walking to my neighbors house to ask something, and while we were chatting i spotted a huge Opossum crawling under a car. Now mind you, I live in L.A so this is not a very common sight...at least not for me and in my neighborhood. The Opossum was actually kinda cute compared to the nearly hairless Opossums i've seen in pictures, and i have only seen another opossum once in my life and it was pretty ugly lol. But this opossum looked pretty well taken care of for an opossum (if that makes sense) and it was like a dark chocolatey brown with white around his eyes. However the weirdest thing was when we spotted a cat and we tried to shoo it away because it was going the same direction to where this possum was, and this kitty was waayy smaller than that possum. So yea the cat went under the car either ways and we thought things were going to turn ugly from there on. We waited but nothing happened. Then like 2 minutes later we see the opossum peek its head out and head towards the house in front where there were more cats! Sooo yea...i'm wondering if this opossum was possibly domesticated because it seemed to get along quite well with cats, and if opussums can be domesticated in general. Thanks alot for those who answer and read this long thing!

Yeah there's a few people who keep them as pets. It's best to raise them from babies of course.

They're not aggressive at all, which is good in a pet. They don't rabies, or very rarely do at least. They do require a very specific diet or they'll get nutritional deficiency diseases. And they don't live as long as you might think they would. Just a few years I think.
