I have an APC UPS and there is a special plug on it that I plug my computer so it is protected in the case of power failure but it's special because when my computer is off, it shuts off power to some other outlets on it that my monitor and speakers are plugged into. Last night my computer was off so the monitor and speakers shouldn't have been getting power but then the power went out. When it came on, my monitor and speakers turned on for some reason but then they just turned right off. They are not protected by the battery but are protected from surges. What could have made the monitor and speakers start getting power?
