could we return to steam?

with the first steam train built in 50 years, having caught peoples attention,why cant we have more of these trains,my 12 year old son hasnt stopped talking about it,or looking it up on the internet.where can i book tickets for this train as a suprise for his birthday.
 
I don't know where you live but you really ought to bring your son to York. You can book the tickets from York station and you can also visit the National Rail Museum free of charge. It's a fantastic day out if you like old engines and carriages and of course they have a Bullet train from Japan too. About a 40 minute car journey away is Pickering, the home of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway where you can go and visit all their lovely old monsters and ride behind a steam engine to Grosmont and back. They do murder mystery evenings on the train a few times each year and at Christmas it becomes Santa's steam train.
