So everything I find online says don't use a generic greeting such as "dear sir or madam" or "to whom it may concern" and to take the effort to find the hiring manager's name and address the cover letter personally. One problem - in this day and age of privacy and protection, I'm finding impossible to find these names even when I call the companies! Anyone got any suggestions as far as what to do or any greetings that are better than the old stand-bys?
